GAA - INDUSTRY INVOLVEMENT

GAA is an Employer Representative organisation with members comprising LC / RPT, Charter and Rotary Wing operators in all areas of aircraft operations, Maintenance prganisationa nd industry support businesses.

GAA has two main functions and they are to represent members and act on their behalf in matters which affect General Aviation nationally (such as Fuel Levy and other issues) and provide industrial information to operators and organisations.

STRUCTURE OF GAA

The National Secretariat is located in Adelaide where the business of GAA is managed and administered on a daily basis.

There are Brairches in South Austrlaia, Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland and members are invited to participate in local Branch meetings and activities, which include attending airport consultative committee meetings, Regional Airspace and Security meetings, organising industry meetings and conferences and generally liaising with FAC, AA and CASA on a wide range of issues.

At National level we attend or are represented at industry Consultative meetings with AA 1 CASA / FAC in Canberra and Sydney on topics such as AV Charges, Airspace Model, Harmonisation of Regualtions and have involvement in various projects associated with the CASA Review Program.

Industrially GAA provides an information service to members ralating to Log of Claims, Award variations and responding to members industrial queries.

We publish a News Digest containing items of interest to all members - contribution from members is always welcome.

GAA has established communications with senior CASA, Airservices Australia and FAC Management in Canberra and Sydney and are able to address or advise on specific problems effecting the industry and / or members.
